About Pre-Engineered Roof Trusses

Last Updated November 2nd, 2020

Pre-engineered roof trusses are frequently used in residential and commercial roof construction and often use MSR lumber members as small as 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 for their construction. These trusses can be fabricated to various and complex geometries to accept significant loads and provide large unsupported spans. The lightweight trusses consist of structural lumber members that are joined together by metal connector plates sized to accommodate the various loading conditions to which the trusses are submitted.

Options for Reuse:

Roof trusses are excellent candidates for reuse and are often diverted to agricultural markets for quick outbuilding construction. If individual members are broken or damaged, the unit can also be broken down into dimension lumber.
