Mass Plywood Panels (MPP) are a type of mass timber product made by laminating layers of veneer—similar to plywood but at a much larger scale. MPP is designed for structural applications and can be used in floors, walls, roofs, and shear wall systems in commercial and multi-family construction. The use of veneer rather than lumber allows for efficient use of forest resources.
Reuse Opportunities:
While still relatively new to the market, MPP can potentially be reused or repurposed when deconstructed carefully. Large, flat panel sections may be suitable for:
Reuse in new construction projects with compatible design specs
Modular or temporary buildings
Furniture or architectural features (such as benches, tables, or walls)
Cladding or acoustic panels in creative reuse projects
As adoption of MPP grows, so will the opportunities for reclaiming and repurposing it.
