Also known as synthetic decking, composite is a building product typically made up of wood fibers, plastics and bonding agents. The mix is heated and formed into board shape lengths, then cooled. The result is a board that is heavier and more durable than wood.
Composite boards come in two varieties: hollow and solid. Hollow boards have chambers running throughout the length of the plank, whilst solid boards are stronger, heavier and tend to look more like real wood.
